OILY SKIN – An Overview

Many of us think that having an oily skin is a big problem. Oily skin is oily due to more production of sebum as compared to the other skin types. Sebum is essential for the skin to protect and moisturize it.
When it comes to taking care of an oily skin it is essential to take right care. Sebum is the natural moisturizer doesn’t mean that you allow a lot of oil to stay on your face and feel happy that your skin is being richly moisturized, that extra oil can be dangerous for your skin’s beauty. You should learn the essentials of an oily skin treatment so that you can enjoy your youthful, smooth and shiny skin for a long time.

An oily skin although being at advantage in comprision to the other skin types in context with ageing is also prone to some serious problems. Lets have an overview of the problems:
An oily skin is generally characterized by shine and enlarged pores that has tendency to break out into acne. This is due to the reason that oily skin tends to attract more dirt and dust. Most potential reason of having an oily skin can be heredity or hormone levels. Oily skin and acne breakouts are generally the problem of teenagers but sometimes it may continue way into adult years. People with oily skin are more prone to have blackheads around the nose as the sebaceous glands are more around the nose.
It is found in a study that flow of sebum reduces with age and hence the skin becomes less oily.
